The new Brickato joins Assistant, Library, Smart Sheets, Workflows, Tasks and Vault in one project, so every answer, check, task and lesson builds on the last.
Every construction project holds thousands of documents. Contracts, specs, bills of quantities, change orders, insurance annexes. The answer to almost every question on site is already in there. Somewhere.
The problem was never a lack of information. The problem was that finding it, checking it and acting on it happened in six different places, by six different people, from scratch every time.
This week we shipped the biggest version of Brickato yet. It's built on a single idea: everything you learn about a project should make the next step easier. Six tools, one connected project.
One question, followed all the way through
The best way to see how the pieces fit is to follow one real question through the product. We used our demo project for the video: "What are the payment terms in the main contract?"
01 · Assistant: ask anything, get the answer with its source
You ask in plain language. Brickato searches the project's documents and answers with citations, down to the clause. Click a citation and the source opens beside the answer, with the cited passage marked, so anyone can check the answer against the document.
In the demo, Assistant found that interim accounts are due monthly, by the 5th, paid 45 days after a proper submission, with the original Hebrew clause quoted inline.
02 · Library: published standards, cited in the answer
Some answers aren't in your project documents. They're in the standards your project has to follow. Library holds published reference collections, like the Blue Book (the General Specification for Building Works). You choose which collections Assistant may use as sources. When it cites them, the answer shows the chapter, clearly labelled as a Library source.
Ask how long concrete must be kept moist while curing, and the answer comes back with at least 7 days, cited chapter by chapter.
03 · Smart Sheets: your questions become columns
Some questions have to be asked of every document: payment due, retention, guarantees. Smart Sheets turns them into a grid. Describe what you need, pick the documents, and confirm the columns. Every document becomes a row and every cell is its own extraction.
04 · Workflows: the checks you repeat, as a process
If you run the same check on every payment request, it shouldn't start from a blank page. Describe the process in your own words and Workflows drafts a numbered, editable plan. Nothing Brickato fills in counts until a person confirms it. Every run is tested before it's published, and each publish is a new version.
05 · Tasks: every finding gets an owner
Found something? Ask Assistant to create a task. It drafts the task (title, priority, assignee, due date) and waits for your approval. Approve it and the task opens on the project board, with an owner and a date.
06 · Vault: lessons your team approved
This is the part that compounds. When your team learns something, like "a late or incomplete interim account restarts the 45-day payment clock", you save it to Vault as a lesson. A lesson stays proposed until someone approves it, and the approval is recorded with their name and date.
Once approved, the lesson grounds future answers. In the demo, the very next question about interim accounts came back with: "This confirms our own lesson…", cited to the Vault.
Connected to the systems you already use
A project is only as good as the documents in it. Brickato now connects to Google Drive, SharePoint / OneDrive, Dropbox, M-Files and Priority, so documents and budget data flow into the project instead of being uploaded by hand.
